I am getting a "file format unsupported" message. I am sure I have previous installed .jar files and they worked. Why not the Mobile Trading System?

This can happen for various reasons. First, it could be that your mobile does not support running or download a .jar file of size more than 93KB. Mostly older models have this limitation. You can verify by looking for your device in APPENDIX A of the User Guide.
Another reason could be that the configuration of the software (i.e. CLDC 1.0/1.10) is not recognized by the device, or that the device requires further information that is not present in the .jad file.
